In 2018 Gutsy won the "Builders of the Century" award for their innovative city intervention "Gutsy Go". In their ambition project, they combine the best of pedagogy, media and efforts for peace. It challenges high school students to become agents of change in their cities. The result is youth-friendly solutions for social harmony and well-being that prevent polarization and conflict within the communities.
Together with cities, they conduct interventions that educate young people to create and communicate solutions to problems in their town.

Together with type designer Jaakko Suomalainen, we created a custom, wonky font for the logotype and to accompany the brand throughout all channels — Gutsy Sans.

Gutsy Sans is a sans serif font that plays on the wildness of the youngsters within the Gutsy Go intervention projects. It comes in both regular and extended variations that randomly interchange when implementing the font.
These two withs create a sense of randomness and uniqueness throughout the applications.

The visual language from the motion type translates into video formats and physical applications, giving all spaces a unique yet cohesive appearance.
